• Child Protection and Participation

    CPP

PEFENAP’s Child Protection Project is a rights-based initiative committed to safeguarding children from all forms of abuse, neglect, exploitation, and violence. The project is grounded in the belief that every child deserves to grow up in a safe, supportive, and nurturing environment where their rights are respected and their wellbeing is protected. It addresses both immediate protection concerns and the underlying social, economic, and cultural factors that place children at risk within communities.

The project works through intensive community sensitisation, school outreach programmes, and engagement with parents, caregivers, and traditional leadership structures. By raising awareness on child rights and protection laws, PEFENAP empowers communities to identify early warning signs of abuse and take appropriate action. The initiative also strengthens referral pathways by working closely with child protection committees, social welfare services, and relevant government institutions to ensure that cases of abuse are reported, documented, and addressed in a timely and coordinated manner.

In addition, the Child Protection Project focuses on prevention through education and behaviour change, encouraging positive parenting practices and community responsibility towards children’s safety. It also provides psychosocial support and advocacy for vulnerable children, ensuring they are connected to essential services such as education, healthcare, and legal protection. Through this holistic approach, PEFENAP is building safer communities where children are protected, valued, and given the opportunity to reach their full potential.
